Samsung is set to release an upgraded 'Ultra' variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 this year

This year, Samsung is slated to roll out at least two editions of the Galaxy Fold 6 Ultra. If some speculations prove accurate, we could potentially see a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra, in addition to a Galaxy Z Fold 6. Samsung plans to unveil their foldable devices in July this year.

Samsung intends to elevate their game this year with the release of their Galaxy Z series, specifically the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Starting off, Samsung is set to release a minimum of two versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 this year, as a recent leak exposed the model number of the "Ultra" version.

Previously, there were widespread rumors suggesting Samsung might introduce a cost-effective version of the Galaxy Z Fold. For some time now, there's been a lot of conjecture about two different versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, one of which would be cheaper with certain strategic adjustments.

Furthermore, there are indications that Samsung is working on an "Ultra" model of foldable phones, which will serve as a high-end alternative to their more economical version.

GalaxyClub's latest report reveals that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 will carry the model number “SM-F958.”

Samsung has a history of ending the model numbers for its premium devices with "6". For instance, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 goes by SM-F946, and the Fold 4 is known as SM-F946. Hence, it would make sense for the Fold 6 to bear the model number SM-F956.

Why was the number "8" included?

Lately, Samsung has been employing this digit to represent the "Ultra" versions. For example, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is identified by the model number SM-S928, whereas the S24+ is referred to as SM-S926. This implies that Samsung is indeed in the process of developing an "Ultra" version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Interestingly, the model number has so far only been seen with the "N" suffix, suggesting a release in South Korea. There hasn't been any indication of the same model number for other areas, but this probably isn't anything to worry about. Furthermore, the SM-F956 model number, which is presumed to be for the more affordable version, is also not visible yet.

It is anticipated that Samsung will reveal its upcoming line of foldable gadgets in July.
