Apple is expected to introduce several new audio devices this year, including a more affordable version of AirPods, possibly named AirPods Lite. Analysts predict that Apple will sell these for about $99.

Apple might eventually release a set of AirPods that are genuinely affordable. The technology powerhouse is predicted to revamp its AirPods range later this year by unveiling several new models.

In a recent note to investors, analyst Jeff Pu backed up these predictions, affirming that Apple plans to release a more affordable "AirPods Lite" in the latter half of 2024. In addition, Pu confirmed the forthcoming launch of the new AirPods Max slated for later this year.

The report from Pu suggests that the production of AirPods will see a surge towards the end of this year, due to the launch of a more affordable version. His study extensively covers the influence of AirPods production on the complete supply chain of Apple and its associates.

In general, Pu predicts that by 2024, the sales of AirPods will drop by 4 per cent annually to 55 million units because of the low demand for current models.

Nonetheless, Pu did not offer any detailed information regarding what can be anticipated from these inexpensive AirPods, which he termed as "AirPods Lite".

Additionally, Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst for Apple, has also hinted at the company's development of a budget-friendly variant of AirPods set to launch in 2024. Kuo speculated that these affordable "AirPods Lite" could retail at $99, although the price in India could be a bit higher. However, they would still be somewhat cheaper than the second-generation AirPods.

At present, there are five variations of AirPods available from Apple. The 2nd generation AirPods are priced at $129 in the US and Rs 12,900 in India. The 3rd generation AirPods, with a Lightning Charging Case, are priced at $169 or Rs 19,990. Additionally, a version with a MagSafe Charging Case is available for $179 or Rs 20,900.

When it comes to the Pros, the second generation AirPods Pro is priced at $249 or Rs 24,900. On the other hand, the AirPods Max is priced significantly higher at $549 or Rs 59,900.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has regularly informed that Apple intends to introduce two versions of AirPods 4 this year. Each of these versions is expected to have a unique design and a USB-C charging case. However, only the premium model will offer features such as noise cancellation.

It's still uncertain if Pu and Kuo are discussing the same basic model of AirPods 4, or if they're talking about a completely different product. As the year goes on, we can expect more information to surface.
