Samsung plans to release a high-end, 'Ultra' variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 this year
Samsung is set to release at least two variants of the Galaxy Fold 6 Ultra this year. If specific speculations prove accurate, we might witness the unveiling of a Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra, together with a Galaxy Z Fold 6. Samsung is anticipated to introduce their folding devices in July this year.
Samsung is intending to elevate their game this year with the unveiling of their Galaxy Z series, especially with the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Starting off, Samsung is set to launch a minimum of two versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 this year. A recent leak has disclosed the model number of the "Ultra" version.
Previously, there were widespread rumors suggesting that Samsung was planning to introduce a cost-effective variant of the Galaxy Z Fold. For a long duration, there have been discussions implying the release of two versions of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, with one of them being reasonably priced due to certain strategic adjustments.
Furthermore, there are indications that Samsung is working on an "Ultra" type foldable model to supplement the more economical version.
A recent GalaxyClub report suggests that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 will bear the model number "SM-F958."
Samsung has traditionally ended the model number of its flagship devices with "6". For instance, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 has the model number SM-F946 and the Fold 4 is termed as SM-F936. So, it would make sense if the Fold 6 comes with the model number SM-F956.
Why was the number "8" added?
In the past few years, Samsung has been using specific numbers to denote their "Ultra" models. For example, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has the model number SM-S928, whereas the S24+ has the model number SM-S926. This implies that Samsung is potentially developing an "Ultra" version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Interestingly, so far the model number has only shown with the "N" suffix, suggesting a release in South Korea. Although the same model number hasn't appeared for other regions yet, this probably shouldn't worry us. Moreover, the SM-F956 model number, which is anticipated for the less expensive version, is also missing at this stage.
Samsung is anticipated to reveal its upcoming line of foldable gadgets in July.
