Apple set to disclose AI approach at WWDC 2024, schedules yearly developers' meet-up

Apple has disclosed the schedule for the Worldwide Developers Conference 2024, also known as WWDC. During this yearly gathering of developers, Apple is anticipated to discuss its AI strategies, as well as future operating systems such as iOS 18, iPadOS 18, visionOS 2, tvOS 18, macOS 15, and watchOS 11.

Apple has revealed that its yearly Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is set to commence on June 10. It's expected that the tech behemoth will unveil its eagerly anticipated plan for artificial intelligence (AI).

The tech powerhouse from Cupertino announced the event's schedule on X on Tuesday, stating it would continue until June 14. Although Apple hasn't revealed its plan, insiders and analysts who have been closely monitoring Apple's latest moves indicate that AI will be a major topic during the showcase.

Continuing the practice established with the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference will be held at no cost through Apple's website and developer app. Importantly, the first day's announcements will take place physically at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California.

It is anticipated that Apple will unveil its latest software enhancements for products such as the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision Pro headset, and smartwatch. Importantly, the company's new approach to artificial intelligence is likely to be the highlight, particularly with the upcoming iOS 18 update.

Apple's marketing executive, Greg Joswiak, suggested the importance of the upcoming event by stating that it would be "Absolutely Incredible," highlighting the emphasis on AI.

Apple's approach to AI is expected to include several forward-thinking features designed to improve the everyday interactions of its users. However, the tech giant does not intend to launch its own AI chatbot. They are currently in discussions with potential collaborators like Google and OpenAI to offer generative AI services, according to Bloomberg News. In China, Baidu might be the source of Apple's AI capabilities.

Sources close to the development process suggest that the upcoming iOS 18 update could be the most significant revamp in the history of iPhone software. Further, Apple also plans to release a small update for the Apple Watch's software, along with the first substantial update for the operating system of the Vision Pro headset.

Apple's WWDC 2024 is set to kick off on June 10, starting with a unique keynote at Apple Park. The event is packed with a range of activities including the State of the Union and the Apple Design Awards, alongside developer sessions and other events. Participants will also have the opportunity to join video sessions and interact with Apple's designers and engineers, thereby strengthening ties within the global developer community.

Besides iOS 18, Apple plans to reveal enhancements for other systems like iPadOS 18, visionOS 2, tvOS 18, macOS 15, and watchOS 11, during the WWDC 2024 event.
