Apple plans to reveal its AI plan at WWDC 2024, schedules annual developer conference

Apple has announced the schedule for the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in 2024. It is anticipated that Apple will discuss their AI initiatives at this annual developer event, in addition to the forthcoming operating systems such as iOS 18, iPadOS 18, visionOS 2, tvOS 18, macOS 15, and watchOS 11.

Apple has declared that its yearly Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is set to commence on June 10. It is expected that the technology powerhouse will unveil its much-anticipated plan for artificial intelligence (AI).

The tech powerhouse located in Cupertino revealed the schedule of the event on X on Tuesday, stating that it will continue till June 14. Although Apple kept their plans under wraps, individuals with inside knowledge and analysts who have been keeping tabs on Apple's latest happenings imply that AI will be a major theme in the presentation.

Keeping up with the practice established since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, the conference will be held at no cost through Apple's website and application for developers. Importantly, the initial day's announcements will take place physically at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California.

It is anticipated that Apple will unveil its upcoming significant software advancements for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision Pro headset, and smartwatch. Importantly, the company's latest AI approach is predicted to be the main focus during the scheduled iOS 18 enhancement.

Apple's marketing executive, Greg Joswiak, subtly suggested the importance of the event, saying, "It's going to be Absolutely Incredible" — an obvious reference to the emphasis on AI.

Apple's approach to artificial intelligence is anticipated to include several forward-thinking features aimed at improving the daily experiences of its users. Despite this, the tech giant does not intend to launch a proprietary AI chatbot. Reports from Bloomberg News suggest that discussions are ongoing with potential collaborators including Google, owned by Alphabet Inc., and OpenAI to offer generative AI services. In China, it seems that Apple might utilize Baidu for its AI operations.

The insiders involved in the upgrade process anticipate that the iOS 18 update will be the most significant revamp in the history of iPhone's software. Furthermore, Apple plans to introduce a slight update to the software of the Apple Watch and the first substantial upgrade to the operating system of the Vision Pro headset.

The Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 is set to kick off on June 10th, beginning with a special keynote speech at Apple Park. The program features a wide range of activities, including the State of the Union address, Apple Design Awards, sessions for developers, and other exciting events. Participants will have the opportunity to join video sessions and interact with Apple's creative minds and technical experts, enhancing networking within the global developer circle.

Besides iOS 18, Apple plans to introduce upgrades for several other operating systems such as iPadOS 18, visionOS 2, tvOS 18, macOS 15, and watchOS 11 during the WWDC 2024 event.
