According to a study, women find laptops and smart TVs to be not user-friendly and are more inclined towards trendy flip-style foldable phones. The study by Techarc suggests tech firms should enhance their efforts to meet the distinct requirements and preferences of female consumers. The research indicates that women believe laptop manufacturers do not adequately address their specific needs, and smartphone producers should provide improved customization options.

Technology has become a pervasive part of our lives, yet it appears that current tech isn't designed with user-friendliness in mind. It is often complex to navigate and not at all intuitive, a sentiment shared by the majority of women in India.

Ladies believe that laptop manufacturers have not addressed their requirements.

A recent study by Techarc, a consulting and analytics company that works with automobiles and cutting-edge technologies, has underscored a significant discrepancy in how women perceive tech products.

The study, unveiled just before International Women's Day, highlighted the necessity for tech firms to more effectively address the distinct requirements and preferences of their female customers.

The study, carried out with 1,150 women nationwide, offers a glimpse into women's anticipations concerning technological items. About 650 of the women surveyed were employed, while 500 were housewives.

The founder and main analyst of Techarc, Faisal Kawoosa, highlighted the significance of recognizing gender-specific choices in the personal technology arena.

He expressed that, although technology doesn't differentiate between genders, there is a requirement and potential to develop product ranges uniquely designed for both men and women, catering to their hardware and software necessities.

In the realm of smartphones, females value the assortment of hues and patterns on offer but desire more personalisation choices. They are in search of adaptable features to suit their evolving tastes. The research also showed a particular fondness among them for the flip-like foldable smartphones that have emerged of late.

Smart rings are becoming increasingly popular in the wearable technology market, particularly among women. On the other hand, women often steer clear of smartwatches and fitness bands that have a more robust design, given the option. The research also highlighted that women are drawn to devices with a feminine look and those that offer apps specifically designed for their requirements.

Women often feel overlooked in the laptop market, with a lack of choices that meet their specific requirements. They feel as though laptop manufacturers have not made significant efforts to cater to their needs. They wish for sleeker laptops with more gender-specific designs that are apt for both work and personal use.

The research also showed that a significant number of women consider Smart TVs to be unintuitive. They see them as too complex to configure and use, which suggests a considerable gap between how the product is designed and the actual user experience. Notably, it's not only Smart TVs, but other Smart Home Devices also perform poorly.

Techarc discovered a worrying disparity around the intended main users of smart appliances such as fridges, ovens, and washing machines. Although manufacturers design these products with women in mind, there's a lack of knowledge about many smart functionalities amongst this demographic. This suggests a greater emphasis on education and training is required. Furthermore, the user interfaces of these smart appliances need to be redesigned to be more user-friendly.

Ladies look forward to more partnership in the tech sector to create gadgets and devices tailored to their requirements. They predict an increase in customization, options, and mobility in upcoming smart devices. Artificial intelligence (AI) is also viewed as a significant facilitator for boosting personalization and accommodating varied user tastes.
