AI incorporated in your refrigerator, air conditioner, washing machine: Samsung introduces new range of home devices, driven by AI

Following the implementation of AI in mobile phones and computers, technology firms are now introducing AI to your domestic devices. Samsung has debuted their latest, Customised Home Appliances range, that boasts AI functions and has improved connectivity.

Technology businesses and household device manufacturers are truly going above and beyond in their efforts to incorporate AI into our daily routines. Beyond introducing AI to smartphones and laptops, these companies are now producing home appliances such as fridges, air conditioners, microwaves, and washing machines that are powered by AI.

Samsung has revealed its newest range of home appliances that are equipped with artificial intelligence.

The prominent South Korean company recently displayed an array of advanced household devices, aimed at improving the user's experience and promoting intelligent living. The revealed products include an AI-enabled refrigerator that can identify more than 30 different food items and propose recipes, an air conditioner that can be remotely controlled using geo-fencing technology, a microwave specifically designed to prepare healthy meals, and a washing machine that can adapt its cycles independently based on the user's laundry routines.

These innovative gadgets come with integrated Wi-Fi, intelligent cameras, and high-tech chipsets, allowing for effortless incorporation into smart home systems. Users can easily watch over and manage these tools through the SmartThings app, which provides extra features like suggesting when to change filters and aiding in securing professional upkeep services.

Samsung's Custom AI appliances utilize the Bixby AI voice assistant and can also work with other voice assistants, improving user-friendliness and ease of use.

In addition, Samsung underscored the energy conservation features of its AI-integrated appliances. The company's AI Energy Mode claims to reduce energy consumption by up to 10% in fridges, up to 20% in air conditioners, and as much as 70% in washing machines.

The President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, JB Park, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the launch of Bespoke AI. He stressed on its capability to transform the way of life in Indian homes and its contribution towards environmental sustainability through lower energy usage.

Samsung has been progressively venturing into the realm of AI-integrated smart home appliances in the past few years. The company has previously exhibited its intelligent washer-dryer combo at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) at the beginning of this year.

Samsung is planning a worldwide roll-out of its AI-enabled appliances, with a significant focus on expanding its market share in India. The company's Senior Director of Digital Appliances in India, Saurabh Baishakhia, revealed an ambitious goal: By 2025, they aim to have 70% of the digital appliances division's revenue come from their custom-made AI products.
