AI implemented in your refrigerator, air conditioner, washing machine: Samsung reveals new range of AI-enabled home devices

Following the inclusion of AI in mobile phones and computers, tech firms are now introducing AI to household gadgets. Samsung has released their innovative, Custom Home Appliances range, which incorporates AI technology and offers improved connectivity.

Technology corporations and household appliance manufacturers are continually striving to incorporate AI into our daily routines. Following the introduction of AI in mobile devices and computers, we now see AI-enhanced appliances such as fridges, air conditioners, microwaves, and washing machines.

Samsung has introduced its most recent range of home devices that are combined with artificial intelligence.

The major company from South Korea displayed a range of creative domestic devices aimed to improve user interaction and promote intelligent lifestyles. The revealed products include a fridge with AI visual recognition that can identify more than 30 food items and propose recipes, an air conditioning unit that can be remotely controlled through geo-fencing technology, a microwave designed to prepare healthy meals, and a washing machine that can learn the laundry routines of users and independently modify its cycles.

These state-of-the-art devices come with embedded Wi-Fi, intelligent cameras, and superior chipsets, allowing for effortless incorporation into intelligent home systems. Users can easily observe and manage these gadgets via the SmartThings app, which also provides extra features like suggesting filter changes and coordinating expert maintenance services.

Samsung's Customized AI devices use the Bixby AI voice assistant and can also work with other voice assistants, thereby improving user ease-of-use and comfort.

Furthermore, Samsung emphasized the power conservation features of its AI-powered appliances. The AI Energy Mode can potentially cut energy usage by up to 10% in fridges, 20% in air conditioners, and a staggering 70% in washing machines.

The President & CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, JB Park, showed great enthusiasm regarding the launch of Bespoke AI. He highlighted its ability to radically transform the way of life in Indian homes, as well as its contribution to environmental sustainability through energy conservation.

Samsung's venture into AI-powered smart home appliances has consistently grown over the past few years. The company has earlier exhibited its intelligent washer-dryer combo at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this year.

Samsung has set its sights on a significant increase in its revenue from AI home appliances in India, following the worldwide release of these devices. Saurabh Baishakhia, the Senior Director of Digital Appliances at Samsung India, revealed the company's ambitious goal to source 70% of the revenue for its digital appliances division from bespoke AI products by 2025.
