OpenAI plans to unveil GPT-5 soon, which will be the nearest approximation to AGI witnessed so far
OpenAI has plans to roll out several AI-related products this year, potentially including new AI applications. They are also gearing up to introduce an improved iteration of their GPT LLM, named GPT-5. Insiders suggest that GPT-5 is the nearest we've come to AGI.
OpenAI is on the verge of introducing GPT-5, the newest version of its AI generative model. While the official release date has not been established, it's expected to be out around the middle of the year, possibly during the summer, as per a Business Insider report.
The latest version of the extensive language model is predicted to be significantly more competent than the GPT-4 model that debuted last year. In a podcast with Lex Fridman, OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman suggested there may be several launches this year.
While he didn't provide specifics or mention a name, as it's still to be determined, he verified that OpenAI plans to unveil an impressive new model this year.
The BI report suggests that GPT-5 is expected to be launched sometime during the summer, according to those knowledgeable about OpenAI’s intentions. However, this schedule is not definitive and might be altered due to different circumstances.
