OpenAI plans to release GPT-5 soon, which may be the most similar to AGI that we've witnessed so far
OpenAI has plans to roll out several AI offerings this year, which may include new AI applications. In addition, it will also introduce an improved version of its GPT LLM, named GPT-5. Insiders suggest that GPT-5 represents our nearest approach to AGI thus far.
OpenAI is gearing up to release GPT-5, the latest version of its generative AI model. Although an official release date has not been announced, Business Insider reports that it could possibly be launched in the middle of the year, perhaps during the summer season.
The upcoming version of the large language model is anticipated to surpass the capabilities of the GPT-4 model which was launched last year. OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman, suggested in a podcast with Lex Fridman that there might be several releases this year.
While he didn't go into specifics or mention a particular name, stating it's still under consideration, he verified that OpenAI plans to launch a remarkable new model this year.
