Maintain an innocent fascination for technology, but never be its servant: PM Modi to Bill Gates
In a discussion with Bill Gates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared some insights into his rapport with modern technology and innovation. He expressed that while he possesses an innocent fascination for technology, he has never allowed himself to be dominated by it.
During his conversation with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a hint of his personal connection with technology. Both Modi and Gates were eager to learn about each other's experiences with technology.
In response to a question about his interaction with technology, Prime Minister Modi shared that even though he is captivated by technology and naturally interested in all kinds of advancements, he has never felt confined or controlled by it.
The Prime Minister expressed a deep interest in technology, even though he does not claim to be an authority on the subject. He compared his curiosity to that of a child. However, he emphasized that he never allowed technology to control him. He is constantly searching for the newest advancements in technology, but he does not feel obligated to use it. His strategy is to actively consider how to incorporate and make use of any new technology he discovers.
The Prime Minister proceeded to share his perspective on budding and upcoming technologies and his connection with them. "When discussions about AI began globally, I began pondering on how we could integrate it into our daily lives," he expressed. "I naturally gravitate towards exploring various uses and functions of technologies. I possess this inherent inquisitiveness, perhaps a divine gift, to quickly understand and adopt new innovations," further elaborated PM Modi.
PM Modi also expressed interest in Gates' tech career. He questioned the co-founder who later became a philanthropist, about what he found to be the most rewarding experience during his time as a tech mogul.
Gates started by stating, "I consider myself fortunate to have been born during the period when the microchip revolution took place. I received an excellent education. I possess a positive outlook. I had the opportunity to leave school to take what appeared to me as not so hazardous risks."
"The most thrilling aspect was witnessing individuals utilize the technology. I always desired software for my personal interest. It's been extremely rewarding for me to observe how technology is enhancing people's lives," Gates commented.
