Laptops and Smart TVs are seen as less user-friendly whereas flip-style foldable phones are currently popular among women, according to a study.

According to a research conducted by Techarc, it is suggested that tech companies should make more efforts to meet the distinct tastes and requirements of their female customers. The research revealed that women believe laptop manufacturers do not consider their specific needs, and there is a need for smartphone manufacturers to provide improved personalisation options.

Technology has become a pervasive part of our daily lives. However, it appears that contemporary technology is not designed with user-friendliness in mind. Rather, it is complex and not at all easy to use, a sentiment that is particularly shared by the majority of women in India.

Ladies believe that manufacturers of laptops have not addressed their requirements.

A new study from Techarc, a consulting and analytics company specializing in cars and innovative technologies, has underscored a significant disparity in the way women relate to tech products.

The research, published on the day before International Women's Day, highlighted the importance of tech firms providing services that meet the specific demands and requirements of women customers.

The study, carried out with 1,150 women nationwide, gives an understanding of what women anticipate from technology products. Among these women, around 650 were employed, while 500 were housewives.

The founder and chief analyst of Techarc, Faisal Kawoosa, stressed the significance of recognizing the unique preferences of different genders in the personal technology industry.

He expressed that although technology doesn't discriminate based on gender, there is a demand and potential for creating products specifically designed for males and females, catering to their respective hardware and software requirements.

In the realm of smartphones, women value the wide array of colors and styles on offer but desire more personalization features. They are interested in features that can be tailored to their evolving tastes. The research also uncovered their fondness for the newly emerging flip-style foldable smartphones.

Smart rings are becoming increasingly popular in the wearable technology market, particularly among women. On the other hand, women often steer clear of smartwatches and fitness bands that have a heavier design, should they have the option. The research also indicated that women favor devices with a feminine look that have apps designed specifically for their requirements.

Women feel neglected in the laptop market, believing there aren't enough choices tailored to their preferences. They perceive that laptop manufacturers haven't made significant efforts to accommodate them. They wish for laptops that are lightweight, aesthetically feminine, and versatile for both work and personal use.

The research also uncovered that a significant number of women do not consider Smart TVs to be user-friendly. They find them too complex to install and use, suggesting a huge gap between the product's design and the user's experience. Intriguingly, this is not only limited to Smart TVs, as other smart home devices also perform inadequately.

Techarc discovered that despite the fact that appliance manufacturers designed smart appliances such as refrigerators, ovens, and washing machines with women as the main target audience, there seems to be a worrying gap. Many women are unaware of the various smart features these home appliances offer, suggesting that there's a need for more education and training. Furthermore, it's crucial to revamp the user interfaces of these smart appliances to make them more user-friendly.

Women are looking forward to more joint efforts in the technology sector to create gadgets and devices tailored to their requirements. They foresee more customization, options, and mobility in upcoming smart devices. Artificial intelligence (AI) is viewed as a significant tool for boosting personalization and catering to varied user tastes.
