Laptops and Smart TVs are perceived as not being user-friendly, whereas flip-style foldable phones are currently trendy among women, according to a study.

A recent research conducted by Techarc indicates that tech firms need to improve their offerings to meet the distinct tastes and requirements of female consumers. The research suggests that women believe laptop manufacturers do not address their particular needs, and smartphone producers should provide better personalization options.

Technology has become a crucial part of nearly every facet of our existence. However, it appears that contemporary technology isn't designed with user-friendliness in mind. Instead, it's often complex and difficult to use, a sentiment shared by the majority of women in India.

Ladies believe that laptop manufacturers have not addressed their requirements.

A recent study conducted by Techarc, a consultancy and analytics firm specializing in automobiles and new technologies, has underscored a significant discrepancy in how tech products appeal to women.

The study, unveiled just before International Women's Day, highlighted the necessity for tech firms to more effectively meet the distinct preferences and requirements of women consumers.

The study, carried out with 1,150 women nationwide, offers an understanding of what women anticipate from technology products. Among these respondents, roughly 650 were employed, while 500 were housewives.

The Founder and Chief Analyst of Techarc, Faisal Kawoosa, highlighted the necessity of recognizing the unique tech preferences that correlate with different genders.

He expressed that, despite technology being unbiased towards gender, there is a necessity and potential to develop products specifically designed for both men and women, catering to their hardware and software requirements.

In the context of smartphones, females value the diverse range of hues and styles on offer but desire more tailored options. They are interested in features that can be tailored according to their fluctuating tastes. The research also showed that they have a special fondness for the recently emerging flip-style foldable smartphones.

Smart rings are becoming increasingly popular in the wearable technology market, particularly among women. Yet, women often opt out of using smartwatches or fitness bands that feature a more cumbersome design when given the opportunity. The research also indicated that women favor devices that not only have a feminine appeal, but also provide apps specifically designed for their requirements.

Women often feel neglected in the laptop market, believing there aren't enough choices tailored to their preferences. They perceive that laptop manufacturers haven't made significant efforts to accommodate their needs. Women would appreciate laptops that are lighter, with more feminine aesthetics, and that can be used for both work and personal purposes.

The research also showed that numerous women consider Smart TVs as not intuitive. They perceived them as too complex to install and use, suggesting a significant gap between product development and user interaction. Interestingly, this is not only applicable to Smart TVs, but other Smart Home Devices also performed inadequately.

Techarc discovered a worrying disparity, despite the fact that manufacturers of appliances such as smart fridges, smart ovens, and washing machines target women as the main users. The knowledge of numerous smart features in these home appliances amongst women is low, suggesting a higher need for education and training. Furthermore, the user interfaces of these smart appliances require significant improvements to become more user-friendly.

Women are looking forward to more partnerships in the technology sector to create gadgets and devices tailored to their needs. They foresee enhanced customization, options, and mobility in upcoming smart devices. Artificial intelligence (AI) is also viewed as a significant tool for boosting personalization and catering to various user tastes.
