According to a study, women find laptops and smart TVs difficult to use, and flip-style foldable phones are currently trendy.

A recent Techarc study discovered that tech companies need to improve in meeting the distinct tastes and requirements of their female customers. The research revealed that women believe laptop manufacturers do not address their particular demands, and that smartphone producers should offer more customization options.

As technology becomes increasingly prevalent in nearly every facet of our lives, it appears that contemporary tech is not constructed with user-friendliness in mind. Instead, it often proves to be complex and difficult to use, a sentiment particularly shared by a majority of women in India.

Ladies believe that their requirements have been overlooked by manufacturers of laptops.

A recent study conducted by Techarc, a consulting and analytics company specializing in the automobile and emerging technology sectors, has revealed a significant discrepancy in how tech products appeal to women.

The study, published just before International Women's Day, highlighted the necessity for tech firms to more effectively meet the distinct tastes and requirements of women customers.

The study, carried out with 1,150 women nationwide, offers understanding into what women anticipate from technology products. Around 650 of these women were employed, while the remaining 500 were housewives.

Faisal Kawoosa, the head analyst and creator of Techarc, underscored the significance of recognizing gender-specific interests in the personal technology sector.

He expressed that, despite technology being indifferent to gender, there is a demand and opportunity to create products specifically designed for men and women, catering to their hardware and software requirements.

In terms of mobile phones, females value the diverse colors and styles offered, but yearn for more individualized choices. They desire adaptable features that can cater to their evolving tastes. The research also disclosed their fondness for the recently trending flip-style foldable mobile phones.

Smart rings are becoming increasingly popular in the wearable technology market, particularly among women. On the contrary, women seem to shy away from bulkier fitness bands and smartwatches, given the option. The research also showed that women favor devices with a more feminine design and applications that cater to their specific requirements.

Women feel neglected in the laptop market, with a sense that their specific needs are not being met. They believe that laptop manufacturers have not made significant efforts to serve them. They desire laptops that are lighter and have more feminine aesthetics, which can be utilized for both work and personal purposes.

The research also showed that numerous women do not consider Smart TVs to be user-friendly. They perceive them as challenging to install and use, pointing out a significant gap between the product's design and the user's experience. Remarkably, this issue isn't only limited to Smart TVs; other Smart Home Appliances also receive poor ratings.

Techarc discovered a worrying gap in the appliance industry. Even though manufacturers design smart appliances such as fridges, ovens and washers with women as the main users in mind, many women are unaware of the smart features these appliances offer. This suggests that more education and training is needed. Additionally, the design of these smart appliances’ interfaces could do with some improvements to make them easier to use.

Women are looking forward to more joint efforts in the tech field to create gadgets and devices tailored to their requirements. They foresee more customization, options, and mobility in upcoming smart devices. Moreover, artificial intelligence (AI) is regarded as a crucial facilitator for boosting personalization and catering to a variety of user preferences.
