Apple plans to reveal its AI approach at WWDC 2024, schedules yearly developers' gathering

Apple has announced the schedule for the Worldwide Developers Conference 2024, commonly known as WWDC. During this annual gathering of developers, Apple is anticipated to discuss its strategy for artificial intelligence, as well as upcoming operating systems such as iOS 18, iPadOS 18, visionOS 2, tvOS 18, macOS 15, and watchOS 11.

Apple has declared that its yearly Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will commence on June 10. During this event, the technology powerhouse is expected to unveil its eagerly anticipated plans for artificial intelligence (AI).

The tech powerhouse headquartered in Cupertino announced the dates for the event on X, stating that it will continue until June 14. Apple has kept its plans under wraps, but those in the know, including analysts keeping tabs on Apple's recent actions, anticipate a substantial emphasis on AI in the presentation.

Continuing with the tradition established due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference will be held at no cost through Apple's website and developer app. Importantly, the initial day's announcements will take place physically at Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California.

It is anticipated that Apple will unveil its latest software updates for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision Pro headset, and smartwatch. The firm's fresh approach to AI is set to be in the spotlight, particularly with the proposed iOS 18 upgrade.

Apple's marketing executive, Greg Joswiak, subtly suggested the importance of the upcoming event, declaring, "It's going to be Absolutely Incredible", clearly implying a strong emphasis on AI.

Apple's approach to artificial intelligence is predicted to include various interactive functionalities designed to improve everyday user experiences. Nevertheless, the tech giant has no plans to launch its own AI chatbot. According to Bloomberg News, the firm is in discussions with potential collaborators like Google and OpenAI to supply generative AI capabilities. In China, Baidu could be the driving force behind Apple's AI offerings.

Insiders involved in the upgrade process suggest that the iOS 18 update is set to be the most significant revamp in the history of iPhone's software. Moreover, Apple plans to implement a small update to the software of the Apple Watch and introduce the first significant upgrade to the operating system that runs the Vision Pro headset.

The 2024 edition of Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is set to kick off on June 10, starting with a special keynote presentation at Apple Park. The program for the event encompasses a range of activities including the State of the Union address, the Apple Design Awards, and sessions for developers among other things. Participants will have the opportunity to join video sessions and interact with Apple's designers and engineers, enabling them to network with the global developer community.

Apart from iOS 18, Apple plans to reveal upgrades for other operating systems like iPadOS 18, visionOS 2, tvOS 18, macOS 15, and watchOS 11 during WWDC 2024.
