Apple is expected to release several new audio devices this year, including a more affordable version of AirPods, potentially named 'AirPods Lite'.

Apple plans to introduce a new version of AirPods this year, potentially dubbed AirPods Lite. Experts predict that Apple will list them for $99.

Apple might eventually release a set of AirPods that are genuinely affordable. The technology titan is predicted to revamp its AirPods range later this year by presenting several fresh models.

In a current note to investors, analyst Jeff Pu affirmed these anticipations, stating that Apple plans to introduce a cheaper version of "AirPods Lite" in the latter half of 2024. Additionally, Pu verified the forthcoming launch of the new AirPods Max later within the year.

Pu's study suggests that the production of AirPods will surge in the latter part of the year due to the launch of a budget-friendly model. His research takes a comprehensive look at how this increased production of AirPods will affect Apple’s entire supply network and its associates.

Pu projects that by 2024, AirPods sales will drop by 4% annually to 55 million units because of a lack of interest in current models.

Nonetheless, Pu didn't give explicit information about what one should anticipate from these affordable AirPods, which he termed as "AirPods Lite."

In addition, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also discussed Apple's efforts on a budget-friendly version of AirPods, predicted to launch in 2024. Kuo hinted that this model, referred to as "AirPods Lite," could retail for $99, although it might be a bit pricier in India. However, it would still be somewhat cheaper than the second-generation AirPods.

Apple currently has five distinct AirPod models on the market. The second-generation AirPods are priced at $129 in the US and Rs 12,900 in India. The third-generation AirPods are priced at $169 or Rs 19,990 and come with a Lightning Charging Case. There's also an option to get them with a MagSafe Charging Case for $179 or Rs 20,900.

The second generation AirPods Pro is priced at $249 or Rs 24,900, while the AirPods Max is available for $549 or Rs 59,900.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has regularly stated that Apple intends to launch two versions of AirPods 4 this year. The two versions of AirPods 4 are expected to have a new design and a USB-C charging case, but only the premium model will include features such as noise cancellation.

It's still unclear if Pu and Kuo are talking about the same budget-friendly model of AirPods 4, or if they're discussing a completely different item. It's expected that more information will become available as the year continues.
