Mark Zuckerberg is personally reaching out to developers at Google Deepmind, attempting to lure them to Meta.

Meta is actively attempting to hire AI developers and using diverse strategies to draw in leading researchers. Additionally, they are offering substantial benefits to keep current employees who are considering moving to other competitor AI firms.

Reports suggest that Meta's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has taken a personal interest in recruiting talent from Google's DeepMind. He is said to be writing individual emails to entice them to join Meta's AI initiatives.

This action highlights the escalating rivalry for AI expertise, as Meta utilizes diverse strategies to lure leading scholars.

Insiders who spoke to The Information revealed that Zuckerberg has been sending emails highlighting the importance of AI to Meta and trying to attract DeepMind employees to work for Meta. These anonymous sources also disclosed that these tailored letters have successfully recruited at least one person.

Besides Zuckerberg's personal involvement, Meta has also employed bold hiring tactics in the field of AI. This includes skipping the conventional interview process and offering jobs straight away to potential candidates.

Furthermore, it has been reported that Meta has boosted salary incentives for its staff who showed interest in moving to competing AI firms, as a strategy to keep them.

The intense competitiveness within the AI skill market has led to exceptional steps taken by corporations such as Meta. Given the scarcity of skilled individuals, major tech companies are involved in aggressive hiring campaigns. This is emphasized by a Fortune report from December, showcasing the ruthless atmosphere at key machine learning gatherings.

Considering the high demand for AI specialists, Aravind Srinivas, the head of AI firm Perplexity, shared his experience of trying to hire a senior researcher from Meta.

On the "Invest Like the Best" podcast, Srinivas revealed that the feedback he got highlighted the need for significant resources like the sought-after H100 GPUs from NVIDIA, stressing the intense competition in the field of AI.

Meta is channeling substantial resources into NVIDIA's H100 GPUs to strengthen its AI efforts, intending to purchase more than 340,000 units. This major investment highlights Meta's dedication to enhancing AI abilities across its platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Meta is aggressively investing in AI talent and resources in its competition with rivals such as Microsoft and OpenAI, indicating a strong struggle for supremacy in the AI sector.
