These are the best mobiles available for less than Rs 50,000 in India currently.

This time, our roundup of mobile phones priced below Rs 50,000 is a bit out of the ordinary. This isn't because we lack phones that offer a good balance of functionality, features, and camera quality. Rather, it's because a few of these phones, despite being priced below 40K, outperform many pricier alternatives within this budget range. After thorough deliberation and comparison, we have compiled a list of the top smartphones you should think about purchasing currently if your budget is around Rs 50,000.

Top mobile phones to purchase for less than Rs 50,000 in India

The Nothing Phone (2), considered one of the finest phones for under 50K, is currently available for less than 40K. This is precisely the point I was making. The premium model of Nothing's latest flagship phone is being sold at an excellent price. It maintains its distinctive look with a transparent back and LED lights. The Glyph lights on the rear are not purely decorative, but also offer a wealth of functionality and customization options. The Nothing Phone (2) is equipped with a robust Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and is supplemented by 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.

The device boasts a 6.7-inch Full HD+ 10-bit LTPO OLED screen that can reach a maximum luminosity of 1600 nits. It complies with HDR10+ standards and offers a variable refresh rate that varies from 1 Hz to 120 Hz. The Nothing Phone (2) features a 50MP main camera, equipped with optical image stabilization, and another 50MP ultra-wide lens that has an automatic focus feature. The camera performs exceptionally well in all modes, particularly when the lighting is good. Selfie lovers will appreciate the 32 MP front-facing camera.

The phone's energy source is a 4700 mAh battery, which ensures it stays on for more than a day with average usage. It is compatible with 45W rapid corded charging and 15W cordless charging. Unfortunately, the package does not include a charger, which must be bought individually. A high-quality 45W USB-PD/PPS charger can completely recharge it in less than 60 minutes. The device operates on Android 13 with Nothing OS 2.0, and the manufacturer guarantees software updates for the next four years.

The cost of the Nothing Phone (2) in India is Rs 38,999 for a model with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.

The iQOO 11 5G is the first of two phones on this list that utilize Qualcomm's former top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It comes with either 8GB or 16GB RAM, and includes 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. The device features a crisp 10-bit 6.78-inch HDR10+ compatible E6 AMOLED screen, boasting a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels and a 144 Hz refresh rate. The screen is shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for protection. The iQOO 11 5G operates on Android 13 with FunTouch OS 13, and users can anticipate further updates down the line.

The main component of the back camera setup is a 50MP camera that uses a Samsung GN5 sensor and includes OIS. It's supplemented by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 13MP telephoto camera, which provides a 2X optical zoom and serves as a portrait camera. The 16MP front camera is responsible for taking selfies and facilitating video calls, and it does a decent job. With moderate usage, the iQOO 11 5G's 5000 mAh battery can last up to one and a half days. Additionally, the included 120W fast charger can power up 50% of the battery in merely 8 minutes and can fully charge it in less than 30 minutes.

The cost of iQOO 11 5G in India is Rs 42,999 for the variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the version with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at Rs 44

The recently introduced OnePlus 12R is another smartphone that showcases the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. While the R series models may not be as feature-packed as their higher-end counterparts, they are robust gadgets that incorporate many elements from the brand's top-of-the-line products, but at a significantly lower cost. The highest specification of this phone, featuring 16 GB RAM and 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage, can comfortably fit within this budget.

The OnePlus 12R boasts a striking 6.78-inch curved LTPO4 AMOLED screen with a resolution exceeding Full HD at 2780 x 1264 pixels. The display, compliant with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, supports a 10-bit colour depth and a 120 Hz refresh rate, reaching a brightness of up to 4500 nits. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 shields the screen from scratches. The smartphone operates on the newest OxygenOS 14, which is based on Android 14, and OnePlus assures several future OS and security updates.

The camera setup is quite alike to that found on the OnePlus 11R. The main camera has a 50MP resolution with optical image stabilization, performing excellently in a range of lighting conditions, including low light. Complementing it are a modest 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. There's also a 16MP front camera for taking selfies and making video calls. The battery capacity has seen a 10% increase to 5500 mAh, and it can sustain over a day and a half of moderate use. The included 100W charger can fully recharge it from zero in less than 30 minutes.

The 12R is definitely a good choice, but one might also think about purchasing the 11R, especially considering it's 4,000 Rs cheaper. The two models share many similarities, including their design and camera features. However, there are two major distinctions. The first is that the 11R comes with a slightly older Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, but it's still pretty strong. The second is that the 11R has a standard Fluid AMOLED screen without a variable refresh rate and doesn't conform to Dolby Vision standards. If you're okay with these compromises to save 4K, the 11R could be your pick. Otherwise, the 12R is the better choice.

The cost of the OnePlus 12R in India is Rs 46,999 for a model with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 11R is priced at Rs 41,999 for the same storage and RAM capacity in India.

Similar to the situation with the two OnePlus models, there's also a choice to be made when looking at Google's offerings. The Google Pixel 7 fits comfortably within the budget, but the Pixel 7a provides most of the same features for a significant Rs 7,000 less. Both models run on the previous top-of-the-line Tensor G2 processor from Google and come with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of built-in storage. The Pixel 7 boasts a larger 6.3-inch screen, while the 7a offers a slightly smaller 6.1-inch screen. Both models feature OLED screens with Full HD+ resolution, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and protection by Corning Gorilla Glass. The devices have IP68 and IP67 ingress protection, respectively.

Pixel phones provide a pristine experience of Android 14, which includes the Material You design language and is set to receive further updates. Fast OS updates and impressive camera features are the two main selling points of Pixel phones. Both the Pixel 7a and Pixel 7 models offer excellent camera capabilities with dual cameras at the rear. The Pixel 7a has a 64MP primary camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a 13MP ultra-wide camera, while the Pixel 7 boasts a 50MP (with OIS) and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. Both models perform admirably under various lighting conditions and modes.

The cost of Google Pixel 7a with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage in India is Rs 39,999. While, the Google Pixel 7 with the same configuration is priced at Rs 46,999 in India.

The list concludes with another phone priced under 40K, the Realme GT 2 Pro. This phone offers impressive features and performance, making it a top-notch choice. It operates on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, and is complemented by 12 GB RAM and 256 GB of inbuilt storage. The design is appealing due to its paper-like biopolymer back. The phone comes with a 6.7-inch QHD+ 10-bit LTPO 2.0 AMOLED screen that has an adjustable refresh rate ranging from 1 to 120 Hz and a peak brightness of 1400 nits. The screen, which complies with HDR10+, is safeguarded from scratches by a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus layer.

The back side of the phone boasts two 50MP cameras – a primary one equipped with OIS and an ultra-wide lens, both performing remarkably well in varying conditions and modes. There is also a distinct 3MP micro camera that offers a magnification range of 20X to 40X. The selfie enthusiasts are sure to love the 32MP front camera. The device is powered by a 5000 mAh battery, sufficient to last up to one and a half days with average usage. The pack also includes a 65W SuperDart charger which can fully charge the device in merely 37 minutes. The Realme GT 2 Pro comes with the latest Android 13 and Realme UI 4.0.

The cost of Realme GT 2 Pro in India is Rs 39,990 for the variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
