India won't tolerate a digital gap, women are becoming more receptive to new technology: PM Modi's statement to Bill Gates

Initiatives such as 'Namo Drone Didi' have played a pivotal role in altering the perceptions of individuals in India's rural areas, as per PM Modi's discussion with Bill Gates. He further shared that he had conversations with numerous African leaders, extending offers to assist them with comparable programs.

During a discussion with Bill Gates about India's digital evolution, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted his commitment to preventing a digital divide in India. He further noted that Indian women, regardless of their socio-economic background, are embracing new technology with a lot of enthusiasm.

Gates stated that India is incorporating technology in a manner that ensures its accessibility to all, especially benefiting those who require it the most.

"Upon learning about the global digital gap, I made up my mind to prevent such a situation in India," PM Modi declared.

The necessity for digital public infrastructure is substantial. Our goal is to ensure that even the most isolated village can utilize essential technologies, as they are a crucial demographic for us," he further stated.

PM Modi proceeded to describe the way women in India's countryside have adopted technology and are achieving amazing things. "Women in India are more receptive to embracing new technologies. When we develop technology that suits their needs, they respond swiftly and accept readily," PM Modi clarified, citing the 'Namo Drone Didi' program as an example.

"We initiated the 'Namo Drone Didi' project with a dual purpose. Firstly, it aimed at empowering three crore underprivileged Indian women to become lakhpati didi, and secondly, to assist them in generating an annual income of Rs 1,00,000," he stated.

He stated that the second objective was to induce a mental transformation. "Women in India's countryside shouldn't be confined to herding cattle or milking cows. My aim is to uplift them by providing access to technology directly at their fingertips."

"This is progressing quite well. I've been engaging with them recently and they are ecstatic. They told me they didn't know how to ride a bicycle, but now they're pilots who can operate drones. There's been a shift in mentality," PM Modi continued.

I've had conversations with numerous individuals from African nations about this matter, assuring them that India is prepared to assist them, as technologies like these provide everyone with equal chances. The primary goal is to empower everyone equally.
