Apple is expected to introduce several new audio products this year, including the more affordable AirPods Lite. Apple is set to release a fresh pair of AirPods, presumably named AirPods Lite, within this year. Experts predict that they will be priced at $99.
Apple might at last release a set of AirPods that are genuinely affordable. The technology behemoth is anticipated to revamp its AirPods range later this year with the introduction of several new models.
Analyst Jeff Pu recently affirmed in an investor note that Apple is set to release a more affordable version of "AirPods Lite" in the latter half of 2024. Additionally, Pu confirmed the forthcoming launch of the new AirPods Max later this year.
Pu's study suggests that the production of AirPods will surge towards the end of the year due to the launch of a more affordable version. His assessment extensively examines the effects of this increased AirPods production on Apple's entire supply network and collaborators.
In general, Pu predicts that the number of AirPods sold will fall by 4% in 2024, dropping to 55 million units because of a lackluster demand for the current models.
Nonetheless, Pu did not offer precise information about what to anticipate from these affordable AirPods, which he termed as "AirPods Lite."
In addition, Apple expert Ming-Chi Kuo has also talked about Apple's development of a cheaper AirPods variant, expected to be launched in 2024. Kuo proposed that the rumored "AirPods Lite" might be available for $99, although it is anticipated to be somewhat pricier in India. However, it would still be marginally cheaper than the second generation AirPods.
At present, Apple has five distinct models of AirPods available. The second-generation AirPods are priced at $129 in the US and Rs 12,900 in India. The third-generation AirPods are sold for $169 or Rs 19,990 if you opt for the Lightning Charging Case. There's also a choice to get the MagSafe Charging Case, which is priced at $179 or Rs 20,900.
Regarding the advantages, the second generation of AirPods Pro is priced at $249 or Rs 24,900. On the other hand, the AirPods Max is available for $549 or Rs 59,900.
Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has regularly shared that Apple intends to introduce two versions of AirPods 4 this year. The expected features of the two models include a fresh design and a USB-C charging case. However, advanced features like noise cancellation will only be available in the more expensive model.
It's still uncertain if Pu and Kuo are talking about the same budget-friendly version of AirPods 4, or if they're discussing a completely different item. We can expect more information to be revealed as the year continues.
