Is iPhone's exclusive ecosystem coming to an end? iPhone might incorporate RCS soon, as indicated by a significant clue from Google.

Apple might at last begin to incorporate Rich Communication Services (RCS) into iMessage in the near future, potentially by the middle of 2024. Google has hinted at a possible launch period for RCS on iOS through its Google Messages webpage.

Apple's strategy to integrate Rich Communication Services (RCS) into iMessage by 2024 is progressing well, as Google has disclosed a possible launch schedule for RCS on iOS through its Google Messages website.

Apple has yet to confirm a specific release date for RCS support, but Google's latest reveal indicates that this function may be introduced with the iOS 18 update or coincide with the iPhone 16 series launch. It is expected that Apple's implementation of RCS will encourage cohesive messaging across different devices.

The launch of a fresh landing page for Google Messages on the official Android website further emphasizes the growth of RCS functions. Despite the page's removal, there are reports suggesting that RCS support will be available for iOS in the fall of 2024.

9to5Google noted that the home page showed a part titled "Soon to be available on iOS" beneath the subtitle "Improved messaging for everyone." The section emphasized Apple's dedication to implementing RCS, assuring an upgraded messaging service for its users.

Should Apple genuinely target a Fall 2024 launch for RCS support, it would coincide with their usual schedule for significant iOS updates, which are commonly released in September concurrently with new iPhone launches.

Apple disclosed in November last year that it plans to include RCS support by 2024, though a detailed schedule was not given. The addition of RCS to iMessage is likely to bring a range of messaging functionalities like multimedia support, read confirmations, typing signals, among others. This initiative will ease messaging between Android and iOS devices over mobile data or Wi-Fi connections.
