Apple argues that their built-in AI system is stronger and more beneficial than OpenAI's GPT 4

Apple appears to be having some challenges incorporating AI into its voice assistant, Siri, according to preliminary findings. Nonetheless, when compared to OpenAI’s ChatGPT 3.5 and ChatGPT 4.0, Apple’s integrated AI exhibits encouraging outcomes, frequently outperforming them.

Apple has encountered issues with incorporating AI into its voice assistant, Siri. As per 9to5Mac, Siri has lately been trialing a feature that explains images received via Messages when using CarPlay or the announcement notifications function.

Apple continues to prioritize the development of AI. They recently released a research paper in which their AI specialists describe a system that exceeds the capabilities of image recognition. Notably, they assert that one of their models surpasses the performance of the widely recognized large language model, ChatGPT 4.0.

The document presents ReALM (Reference Resolution As Language Modeling), a system developed to improve the features of a voice assistant. ReALM takes into account both the information displayed on the user's screen and the current activities.

It classifies objects into three categories: those appearing on-screen, those involved in conversations, and those in the background.

Apple is of the opinion that ReALM could greatly enhance Siri's smartness and practicality. Moreover, Apple has faith in the efficiency and user-friendliness of the system. When compared to OpenAI’s ChatGPT 3.5 and ChatGPT 4.0, Apple’s in-built AI demonstrates encouraging outcomes.

The study shows notable enhancements compared to previous systems, with Apple's most compact model delivering a performance equivalent to ChatGPT 4.0. Furthermore, bigger models surpass ChatGPT 4.0 by a considerable extent.

Apple is striving to enhance the performance of its devices without compromising on quality. This strategy is in line with their dedication to ensuring user privacy and security. The forthcoming iOS 18 and WWDC 2024 event set for June 10 could reveal more advancements in Apple's AI technology.
