Apple counters, denies all allegations made by the DOJ in their antitrust lawsuit response

Apple has decided to staunchly oppose the US Department of Justice in the antitrust lawsuit. Apple has resolved to reject all of DOJ's allegations in the lawsuit and maintains it never obstructed rival applications and services or employed unfair competition strategies within its operating environment.

Apple has strongly refuted claims of engaging in anticompetitive practices, following the antitrust legal action initiated by the Department of Justice (DOJ). The tech giant insists that it has not hindered the applications and services of its rivals or used any unfair strategies within its self-contained platform, often dubbed the "walled garden."

In response to the allegations made by the DOJ, Apple underscored its dedication to maintaining user privacy and security. They stated that any restrictions placed on the accessibility of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) for app developers are done so selectively with these priorities in mind. Likewise, any limitations on third-party digital wallets are deemed necessary to protect user information.

Regarding worries of dominating the app software market, Apple has explained that it doesn't prevent the existence of "super apps" on its platforms, pointing to apps like Facebook, WeChat, and Line that are accessible to iOS users. The firm also stressed its receptiveness to game streaming services in the App Store.

Apple clarified that the closer connection between the Apple Watch and the iPhone is due to practical factors like development challenges, not because of any intention to monopolize the market.

In response to accusations of obstructing users from moving to rival products, Apple emphasized the simplicity of data transfer from iPhone to Android devices. They insinuated that user decisions may be swayed by their personal preferences rather than any deliberately placed obstacles.

Apple had earlier cautioned that the litigation could set a concerning standard, giving the government excessive control over technological design. The firm continues to stand firm in its resolve to strongly contest the accusations.

On the other hand, US Attorney General Merrick Garland claimed that Apple's methods hinder possible advancements which could lessen consumer reliance on the iPhone. This, in turn, suppresses competition and innovation within the industry.
